Sexuality: Heterosexual

Appearance: Hao has long, silky black hair that cascades past his waist, and wide, sepia-brown eyes with tinges of dark maroon. His face has feminine features, while his skin, light and slightly tanned, is smooth and unblemished. He stands at approximately 5’3’’, and has a slender, extremely toned figure.

His usual outfit consists of a white, high-collared poncho with a slit on the right side of it, with dark, navy blue jeans underneath. A multitude of dark crimson belts – imbedded with the picture of yellow stars – are often wrapped around his legs. For his feet, he wears charcoal-colored shoes with red Lego-like blocks attached to the very front of it. At last, on his ears, he wears large, red earrings that have the image of a white star in the center of a dark circle.

Personality: One of the most ostentatious aspects about Hao is his arrogance. Self-righteous and self-assured, he tends to speaks nonchalantly, as if he hadn’t a care in the world because he knew exactly what he was doing. Barely anything unnerves him, and everything, from his tone of voice to his movement, is calm and unagitated. He knows exactly what he wants – to be Shaman King, and he will harm anyone who gets in his way without a second thought.

Because of this, he can appear cold and unfeeling, even a little bit sadistic. In reality, however, he is a lonely individual, someone who barely understands what friendship is. His trust is hard to earn, partly due to the fact that he is unwilling to impart it to anyone. He knows that many are afraid of his powers, causing him to hate those who are weak and develop a superiority complex.

Since he is used to knowing what others are thinking, he is intrigued by those who are an enigma. He also tends to put others on a high pedestal, expecting much from those who interest him, particularly from the ones he deems strong.

When he was a child in his first life, Hao had seen his mother burn to death. This caused a psychological imbalance mentally, making him have an unusual fixation with fire. Thus, whenever he can, he uses his flames to destroy whoever intervenes with his plans, not caring the least bit for anyone.

Despite this, he has a strong love for nature and animals, and he dislikes how non-shamans pollute the Earth so selfishly. Because of this, he tends to call those who are not a shaman, a human, as if he was not one himself. In fact, after being called ‘demon’ and similar names numerous times as a kid, he has trouble considering himself a human.

Strangely enough, Hao treats younger children kindly, particularly those who are innocent and naïve.

Abilities/Strengths: Being a shaman, Hao is able to use his Spirit of Fire as he pleases, using it to attack whoever, whenever. In addition to this, he has control over the five elements – water, fire, wind, earth, and gold. With his onmyoji arts, he’s even capable of changing the weather and predicting a possible future. He also has the power of Reishi, allowing him to read others’ mind and hearts. Aside from his supernatural powers, he’s also rather clever, being an observant, astute tactician and leader at the same time.

Weaknesses: Although Hao has numerous abilities, he has one very prominent weakness – his own reishi. He cannot control this power, and thoughts from others are constantly inundating his mind. This has made it difficult for him to trust others, as well as to love. Because of this, he behaves coldly, barely treating anyone with kindness. However, the only thing that makes him hesitate is witnessing a child meeting with a parent, for, although he does not understand this, it stems from his psychological imbalance caused from seeing his mother’s death. He also cannot read others' minds when they are able to read minds as well (although, it's visa versa, for his mind would be closed to the other as well).
